On September 21 thousands of people in many Russian cities and all over the world will join a March for Peace. The international movement “Govorite Gromche” (“Speak Up”) cannot stay on the sidelines. The call is on people to come out in support of this march to call for peace between Russian and Ukraine.
The demand is a cessation of the irresponsible and aggressive policy conducted by the Russian government. This policy has brought war to Ukraine and has resulted in the violent death of thousands of Ukrainians and Russians. Members of the Russian forces are killed and captured in Ukraine. There can be no doubt that this is a military aggression: an invasion that is no longer camouflaged and which cannot be justified.
Russian policies have led to a growth in fascistic tendencies in the country, its isolation in the world, and heavy economic consequences most of which the Russian people have yet to experience. These policies are accompanied by a strengthening of political oppression inside Russia and further curtailment of the rights and liberties of her citizens.
This Sunday, September 21 at 2 pm the rally will take place outside the Russian Consulate in Bayswater in order to protest against Russian military aggression.
