The Ukrainian Institute in London invites you to take part in a meeting with special guest Ukrainian Lithuanian surrealist writer BBC Ukrainian Book of the Year 2013 winner Yaroslav Melnyk.

Discussion will be held both in English and Ukrainian. Moderator of the discussion will be Svitlana Pyrkalo.

Kniga-rokuYaroslav Melnyk – Ukrainian and Lithuanian novelist, writer, philosopher, critic, member of the National Writer’s Union of Ukraine and Writer’s Union of Lithuania, winner of numerous competitions and awards, author of more than ten books which have been published in European countries. Critics call him a mystic and existential writer.

The book Kelias į rojų (The Road to Paradise) was nominated for the Europe book prize.

All of his books in Ukrainian prose were finalists’ books of the “BBC Ukrainian Book of the Year” (2012, 2013, 2014) and his novel “Dalekyi prostir” (“The Remote Space”) became the “BBC Ukrainian Book of the Year”in 2013.
