International creative youth network Call to Create presents On Mass with Jamie Cullum at the Roundhouse as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival on Sunday 15 November
Jamie Cullum has called upon young artists from around the world to respond to an original musical passage, which will culminate in a huge performance in the Main Space of the Roundhouse.
Artists from the UK have travelled to Ukraine, South Africa and Nigeria to work with young musicians. Interpretations of Jamie Cullum’s motif will be created by young musicians who have been invited back to the Roundhouse to perform in a vast showcase of young international artists.
The climax will build to a live mash-up of the theme orchestrated by Roundhouse Associate Artist Tim Exile using bespoke technology created especially for the show. Other performers include the Roundhouse Choir, Kinetika Bloco, the Roundhouse Music Collective and Wax Lyrical.
Seven young musicians aged 18-23yrs from Krivyi Rih will come to London for a weeks worth of activities including music workshops, rehearsals, recordings and an introduction to the London jazz scene. They will collaborate with other young artists from around the world and across the UK ahead of the performance for On Mass. They will also have the chance to work and perform with jazz star Jamie Cullum. The young Ukrainian artists will perform alongside Jamie at the Roundhouse this November for this huge event as part of the EFG London Jazz Featival.
