Ukrainian Institute is inviting everyone for the talk with Dana Pavlychko, Director of Osnovy Publishing, Kiev, Ukraine.

Moderated by Marina Pesenti, Director of Ukrainian Institute. The event will include sale of Osvony’s books.

Ukraine is one of Europe’s laggards in terms of books published per capita. The share of Ukrainian language books on the market is even smaller. Osnovy publishing has been trying to set up a new trend: to make Ukrainian books attractive to a wide audience and reflect global trends in publishing. Publishing business is also hard-hit by the current economic situation in Ukraine. How do publishers stand up to these challenges?

Dana Pavlychko graduated with an MA in Public Policy from King’s College London and is a member of the United World College selection committee in Ukraine. Osnovy Publishing has been Ukraine’s most important academic publishing house since 1992. Today Osnovy’s catalogue contains over three hundred titles
