The British-Lithuanian Society invites you to a talk byJonas Öhman, Co-director and co-writer of documentary film “The Invisible Front” and co-founder of civic initiative “Blue/Yellow”
“The war in Ukraine”
Only a few days ago Ukraine and all friendly nations celebrated the anniversary of Maidan. The Maidan’s ideals and Ukraine’s European choice now needs support in all possible ways, because today they are fighting against Russia-backed separatists not only for their own state, but also for Western values, peace and security in Europe. With thousands killed and part of the country in ruins, concern grows all over Europe over the aggressive plans of Putin’s Russia.
Jonas Öhman is a film director and co-founder of the civic initiative “Blue/Yellow”, a Lithuania-based organisation that raises funds in order to equip Ukrainian military units with much needed resources. Ohman often travels to the frontlines in Ukraine in order to deliver aid directly.
He will be discussing the situation in Ukraine, what it means to Europe and Lithuania, and his personal experience in support of the Ukrainian troops through his organisation “Blue/Yellow”.
