An art exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster and the way it affected life and food in Europe.
Previously, this exhibition was shown at Mystetsky Arsenal in Kyiv, Ukraine. Read more about it here (in Ukrainian). After that it travelled to Belarus, Germany, Italy, Spain and Norway. And now finally in London!
The Chernobyl Disaster occurred during the Cold War and it alarmed the whole Europe about what was safe to eat and drink. The Food of War Art collective considers of great relevance the consequences of this incident at the table of several European Countries where the radioactive cloud passed.
WHAT TO EXPECT
An art show with paintings, photographs, mixed media and Gastroperformances.
Omar Castaneda is a Colombian artist whose art practice revolves around food as medium and subject.
Quintina Valero is a Spanish documentary and press Photographer focused on human rights and humanitarian crises.
Simone Mattar is a Brazilian artist and creator of the Gastroperformance where she unifies design, art, culture and food.
Zinaida Lihacheva is a Ukranian artist and designer, works at the intersection of applied and core arts.
Carolina Munoz is a singer who explores the traditional opera and the contemporary movements of South American music.
Hernan Barros is a Visual artist working the concepts of food and history.
